As previously reported, a delegation from the Development Strategy Centre paid a working visit to Turkey last week. During the visit, meetings and roundtables were held with a number of high-ranking "think tanks" and prestigious higher education institutions in Turkey, and Memorandums of Cooperation were signed.
In particular, the delegation of the Centre took part in an event held at the Institute for Strategic Thinking in Ankara with the participation of students from more than 40 countries.
The Institute for Strategic Thinking, which has been operating since 2009, is currently working on the development of strategies aimed at creating ideas for solving the main strategic goals and problems of Turkey, both internally and externally, and putting them into practice. For this purpose, the institute organizes various international roundtables, conferences and brainstorming events, and publishes annual reports.
Making a speech at the event, Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Centre, spoke on "Reforms in Uzbekistan: Analysis and Priorities" and briefed the participants on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan in the framework of the Action Strategy, in cooperation with leading foreign think tanks. “Reforms in Uzbekistan: Analysis and Priorities".
It was also noted at the meeting that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to regional relations in its foreign policy and puts forward important initiatives to ensure stability, especially peace in Afghanistan, in which growing ties between Turkey and Uzbekistan also contribute to regional development. The participants were informed, that at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, a high-level international conference entitled “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Threats and Opportunities” is planned to be held in Tashkent on 15-16 July.
It was noted that the relations established between Uzbekistan and Turkey are multifaceted, and the friendly relations between the Heads of State and Government have overcome bureaucratic barriers at all levels and contributed to the development of multifaceted relations between civil society and the private sector.
At the end of the meeting, Eldor Tulyakov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Centre, answered in detail the questions of the conference participants on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute for Strategic Thinking and the Development Strategy Centre. It was agreed to jointly carry out projects on topical issues, to conduct research on proposals for improving relations between the two countries.
