REGIONAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES IN CENTRAL ASIA HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED

An international scientific-practical conference on "Regional Transformation in Central Asia" was held on September 25-26 at the Academy of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The international conference, organized by the OSCE Academy and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation of Germany, was attended by experts from Central Asian countries and international organizations, who expressed their views on the rapid changes taking place in Central Asia. In particular, Farrukh Khakimov, Head of the Development Strategy Centre, spoke at the conference on "Digital Economy in the Economic Development of Central Asia."

In his speech, F. Khakimov drew the attention of leading experts in the region and the world to the importance of effective digitization and information policy in the economic development of Central Asia, problems and promising projects in the field and proposals to improve national development strategies for digitization.

In particular, the speaker noted the need for the widespread introduction of "electronic documents" and remote electronic services in the registration of trade relations and customs documents between the countries of the region in order to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the digital economy and digitization in Central Asia.

F. Khakimov also briefed the participants of the international conference on the development and informatization of the digital economy in Uzbekistan, including the national strategy "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030" and the ongoing project "One Million Programmers" to educate young people and the population on information technology.

At the end of the conference, which was rich in practical initiatives, the participants recognized the importance of such meetings in developing a clear position and approach to the processes taking place in Central Asia and agreed to develop an action plan for the implementation of the ideas and suggestions on the issues on the agenda.
