PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY CONDUCTED TO ESTIMATE THE TRANSFORMATIONS IN 2018

The Development Strategy Center within the framework of the 2018 State Program ‘Year of Support of Active Entrepreneurship, Innovative Ideas and Technologies’ conducts a public opinion survey among citizens with a view to summarizing the preliminary results of work carried out in various areas of society’s life, as well as identifying key areas to be reformed in 2019.

It is envisaged that the survey, first of all, will serve to study the implementation of the National Action Strategy on Five Priority Development Areas 2017–2021, provide in-depth analysis of the status of reforms in the field, identify weaknesses, determine the level of citizens’ satisfaction with the work being done, and compile suggestions and opinions for next year.

In order to effectively carry out these tasks and create additional conditions for citizens, the Development Strategy Center launched the website www.2019.strategy.uz, in which it is available to fill a questionnaire online in Uzbek and Russian languages. Also, specially composed groups will conduct a direct survey of public opinion among the general public, in particular, young people, civil servants, representatives of public organizations, entrepreneurs, retirees in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city and all regions.

By participating in the survey, citizens can give an objective assessment of the results of measures taken in such areas as the state and public administration, the development of judicial, legal, economic and social areas, increasing the authority of Uzbekistan in the international arena, ensuring security, and interethnic harmony. In particular, the groups will analyze the work carried out in such areas, the activities of the media, the dialogue between government agencies and the people, the construction and repair of internal and main roads, the construction of affordable housing, as well as in the fields of education and health.

It is important that this year questionnaire include an additional item for Uzbeks living abroad, whose opinions and suggestions on political and economic processes in our country will also be taken into account and separately analyzed.

Following the survey, all data will be summarized and analyzed by experts of the Development Strategy Center, the results of which will be covered in the media. Also, the opinions and proposals received from citizens for 2019 will be provided to the National Commission for the Implementation of the Action Strategy for inclusion in the draft State Program for next year.

The public opinion survey will continue until November 5, 2018.
