
“Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev dated September 11, 2023 No. UP-158, the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy was approved. This is an important document that defines the main directions of Uzbekistan's development for the next 7 years and is aimed at achieving 100 goals within the framework of 5 priority areas. Its goals and performance indicators are presented in a form that is easy to perceive and understand by the population.
The “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy was developed to ensure the sustainable and inclusive development of the country and defines the long-term development directions of Uzbekistan. It provides for such goals as reforms in various spheres, economic growth, improvement of education, healthcare, and social protection systems, ensuring environmental sustainability, and modernizing public administration.
The Strategy also serves the goals aimed to fulfil the will of our people to build a free and prosperous, powerful New Uzbekistan, creating all opportunities for every citizen to develop their potential, educating a healthy, educated, and spiritually developed generation, forming a strong economy that has become an important part of global production, and guaranteeing justice, the rule of law, security, and stability.
The "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy, developed based on the experience gained during the implementation of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy and the results of public discussion, entails the following main ideas:
– joining the ranks of countries with upper-middle income by the means of sustainable economic growth;
– creation of education, healthcare and social protection systems that fully satisfy public demand and meet international standards;
– creation of favourable environmental conditions for the population;
– building a just and modern state in the service of people;
– guaranteeing the country’s sovereignty and security.
The “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy consists of 5 priority areas:
– creating decent conditions for realizing the potential of every person;
– ensuring the welfare of the population through sustainable economic growth;
– conservation of water resources and environmental protection;
– ensuring the rule of law, organizing public administration oriented at service to the people;
– consistent continuation of the policy based on the principle of “A safe and peace-loving state”.
The Presidential Decree designates the implementation of the “Uzbekistan
– 2030” Strategy and achieving its target indicators as a top priority in the activities of all state bodies and organizations.
According to the Decree, within the framework of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy there will be ensured the achievement of all goals and implementation of urgent tasks, identified in the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy, which have not lost their relevance and are in process of realization.
The “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy will be implemented in Uzbekistan on the basis of State Programs adopted based on the names given to each year. The Republican Commission for the Implementation of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy is responsible for organizing the full, timely, and high-quality implementation of the Strategy, as well as for preparing and coordinating the implementation of relevant annual programs for its implementation.
