Maxim Oreshkin,

Minister of Economic Development, the Russian Federation:

“With President Shavkat Mirziyoyev we talked over all the areas of our cooperation in trade, investment, modern technology. Each next step on the joint path implies the creation of new industries and jobs, increasing the income level of the population in Uzbekistan.

Further strengthening of the interaction between our states is reflected in the figures: trade is increasing, new companies enter Uzbekistan with investments. The President pointed out to the need to step up efforts, as certain issues require urgent solutions.

At monthly videoconferences, the parties discuss the issues of textile supplies to the Russian market, the development of agriculture, and expansion of industrial cooperation. Such initiatives are important in terms of enhancing the state engagement in the advanced development of business, strengthening economic relations, and eliminating barriers to cooperation. We should not stop on what we have achieved, we need to go ahead.

We are witnessing the dramatic change in Uzbekistan. Russia experienced a similar period. Ample opportunities in Uzbekistan suggest its sustainable economic development in the near future. The country is building its capacity not just for the short term, but for the distant future.”
